Harvey Louis Hilgenkamp, the son of John and Minnie (Echtenkamp) Hilgenkamp, was born June 28, 1906 at rural Arlington, Nebraska. He was baptized on July 15, 1906 and was later confirmed into the Lutheran Faith at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington, Nebraska. He received his education at St. Paul’s Lutheran School. He lived and farmed all his life on the family farm, north of Arlington, until moving into Arlington 10 years ago. Harvey was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Laymen’s League and was a trustee of the church.

On September 29, 1935, in St. Paul’s Church, at Arlington, he married Elsie Ahlmeyer. She died on July 8, 1985. He was then united in marriage to Helen Hansen Stork, on January 3, 1987 at St. Paul’s Church.

Harvey passed from this life on Monday, April 27, 1992, at the A.J. Merrick Manor, at Fremont, Nebraska, at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 29 days. H is survived by his wife, Helen; sons, Gary and Rollyn, both of Arlington; daughter, Judy Bushek of Littleton, Colorado; step-daughters, Mrs. Carl (Peggy) Dein and Mrs. Robert (Fern) Brown both of Arlington, and Mary Grefe of Fremont; a sister, Elma Wehmeyer of Fremont; 3 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, 2 infant brothers and a sister, Lydia Wolf.
