The funeral for Violet Brown, 92, 2829 N. Broad St., will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Presbyterian Church in Fremont.

Brown died Monday, Sept. 5, 1994, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Violet Rasmussen was born Nov. 20, 1901, in Vacoma and grew up near Spiker. She attended Spiker school and attended Midland Lutheran College. She moved to Norfolk in 1925 and was bookkeeper at Nebraska Gas and Electric in Norfolk until 1926. She married Oscar Brown June 30, 1927, near Spiker. They lived in Omaha until 1940, when they moved to Fremont. She was a rental owner and manager of Fremont-area properties. He died in October 1962.

She was a member of The Presbyterian Church in Fremont, member and past president of American Legion Auxiliary 40 & 8, World War I Auxiliary, Ak-Sar-Ben and was on its Membership Team.

Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Ellen Rasmussen of Omaha and Irene Rasmussen Retka of Blair.

The Rev. Stephen Brownlee will officiate Thursday's service. Visitation will be 1-9 tonight at Lattin-Dugan-Chambers Funeral Home in Fremont. Burial will be at Arlington Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to the church.
