Arlington—The funeral for Virgil H. Hilgenkamp, 71, of rural Arlington, will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington.

Mr. Hilgenkamp died Tuesday, June 4, 1991, at Midlands Community Hospital in Papillion. He was a farmer.

He was born Oct. 6, 1919, in Arlington. He was a lifetime resident of the area and farmed northeast of Arlington.

Mr. Hilgenkamp was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Men’s Club, was an elder of the church for several years and was a current member of the Evangelism Committee. He served for nine years on the board of directors of the Nickerson Coop and was a member of Washington County Livestock Feeders Association.

He married Marjorie Gnuse May 10, 1942, in rural Arlington. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, David Hilgenkamp of Arlington; a daughter, Mary Ann (Mrs. John) Dole of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a sister, Verona Giesselman of Arlington; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

The Rev. Michael Rogers will officiate Friday’s service. Visitation is in progress until 9 p.m. today at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington and an hour before time of service at the church. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery near Arlington.

Memorials have been established to the church and the American Lung Association.
