Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, August 16 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church for Leonard Brummer, 84 of Blair, who died at Methodist Hospital in Omaha August 13, 1996. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery at Blair.
Leonard V. Brummer was born May 20, 1912 at Dunlap, Iowa to Henry and Iva Story Brummer. He attended rural school at Dunlap.
He farmed in the Dunlap and Logan, Iowa area until 1947 when he moved to Kennard. There he owned and operated the New Deal Bar.
In 1979, he sold the business and moved to Blair, where he resided until his death.
He served as president of the Platte Valley Baseball Association; was fire chief at Kennard for many years and was active at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church.
He married Regina Stolz in Dunlap February 7, 1933.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Donald; one grandson, Blake Gottsch; two sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Regina; a daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Pat Gottsch, Elkhorn; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Rhea Brummer, Omaha and Dennis and Vickie Brummer, Blair; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
