Matilda “Skip” Foral, 83

Matilda “Skip” Foral, 83, died Friday, Dec. 26, 1997, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fort Calhoun. Burial will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

Mrs. Foral was born March 3, 1914, in Omaha to Frank and Matilda (Michalek) Mestecky. She grew up in Omaha and Douglas County and attended North High School. She worked many years at the Sievers Store in Fort Calhoun.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, had been a cast member in Father Schwertley’s productions and was a naturalist.

Survivors include her husband, Joe; daughters and sons-in-law, Jean (Van Winkle) and Gordon Mallory, all of Fort Calhoun; Phyllis (Van Winkle) and Dale Spangenthal of Clearfield, Utah; step-daughters and sons-in-law, Lorraine (Foral) and Robert Lammers of Wyomissing, Penn.; Peggy (Foral) and Mike Elvers, Omaha; Anita (Foral) and Lawrence Kusek of Fort Calhoun; a step-son and daughter0-in-law, Joseph and Kim Foral of Blair; a sister, Anne Beck of Omaha; 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clifford Van Winkle; her parents; brothers, Frank Mestecky and Joseph Mestecky and sisters, Marie Kruml and Phyllis Gunn.

Memorials may be given to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Building Fund, the American Cancer Society of the Fort Calhoun Rescue Squad.

Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
