William H. Farnsworth

The body of William H. Farnsworth will be taken to Sioux City today. Mr. Farnsworth came to Sioux City in the early 90’s from Blair, Nebr., entering the office of O. J. Taylor. Later a partnership was entered into and then with D. C. Shull, the firm of Taylor, Shull, & Farnsworth was formed. Mr. Farnsworth later retired from the firm and formed a partnership with County Attorney Ole T. Naglestad. Prominent as a attorney, Mr. Farnsworth was still more widely known as a politician, being a leader in the Democratic Party. It is said that at one time he practically dominated the activities of the party in the northwest part of the state. Mr. Farnsworth’s father, who lived with him, died about eight years ago, being over 90 years of age at the time of his death. Attorney Farnsworth commenced to fail in health about five years ago and his retirement from active life followed. He was 66 years of age at the time of his death. He is survived by his widow. The funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Dickinson’s undertaking establishment. Interment will be made in the Logan Park Cemetery.-Sioux City Journal.
