Walter R. Blum, age 75 of Tekamah, passed away Jan. 26, 2019, at Tekamah Care and Rehabilitation. Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.

Walter was born on Nov. 10, 1943, in Fremont, the son of Edward and Edith Blum. He attended Pleasant Hill and New England country schools before attending Hooper High School. He was confirmed at the E.U.B. church in Telbasta. Walter served his country as part of the Army Reserves. Walter farmed on the Blum family farm, which has been in the family for over 100 years. He had a love of motorsports and was active with the Bush Pullers in past years, winning the Nebraska State Fair in his pulling class and having race cars. Walter was a member of the Herman American Legion Jackson Peck Post #247. In his earlier years, he was active in 4-H in different animal clubs and in later years enjoyed participating in open classes with flowers and grains at the fair.

Walter is survived by his sister, Vivian Blum of Tekamah, and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be directed to the Herman American Legion Jackson Peck Post #274.
