Darlene Alice (Swingholm) (Bohs) Gardner age 85, of Blair, passed away Jan. 26, 2019, in Omaha. Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at 2 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at noon at the church.

Darlene Alice (Swingholm) (Bohs) Gardner was born Aug. 2, 1933, to John and Christine Swingholm of Blair. Born and raised in Blair with nine brother and sisters, she graduated from Blair High School. She married Carl (Lyle) Bohs, together they farmed and raised two children, Chris and Liz. They attended First Lutheran Church with sister-in-law, Charlotte Bohs (Paine)(Bauer) and children, Carl, Mary, Tom, Jeanie and Suzie.

In retirement, she married James Spray Gardner, Captain USN, together they resided in Blair. Although a lifelong resident of Blair, Darlene also briefly lived in southern California, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Albuquerque, N.M. Her family, the people and town of Blair, are her life and love forever and ever.

Darlene is survived by her children, Christopher Bohs and Lizabeth (Russell) Olney; granddaughter, April (Cody) Beatty; grandson, Cuyler Beatty; sisters, Katie, Ruby, and Patsy; and 50 nieces and nephews and their many children. She is also survived by three of her best friends from childhood, three wonderful ladies.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lyle Bohs and James Gardner; her parents; brothers, John and Richard; sisters, Dorothy, Mary, Lola and Peggy.
