W. H. Sappenfield Rite Held Here Monday November 11-Employee of Enterprise For Twenty Years-Died November 8

Harry Sappenfield, a trusted and efficient compositor in the Enterprise office for twenty years, passed away in an Omaha hospital last Friday after having been there since Wednesday evening prior to that date.

Deceased was born in Flora, Illinois on December 9, 1874 and was thus nearing his sixty-sixth birth anniversary. When an infant his parents moved to this county in 1875 and later in 1887 they went to Washington State where they remained for two years and then returned to Blair.

On June 26, 1895 he was married to Arminta Gearhard and to them eight children were born, Mrs. Chris Wrich, Blair; Mrs. H. C. Williams, Boise, Idaho; Mrs. George Hindley, Herman, Nebraska; Walter Sappenfield, Fort Calhoun, Nebraska; Mrs. A. E. Perkins, Buhl, Idaho; Mrs. L. B. Sweet, Cheyenne, Wyoming; Clyde Sappenfield, Inglewood, California, and Clarence Sappenfield of Denver, Colorado, all of who survive.

Besides the wife and children, two brothers, Walter of Blair and Loy of Tecumseh, Nebraska and one sister, Mrs. Mable Munroe of Flin Flon, Saskatchewan, Canada, and eleven grandchildren and other relatives and friends mourn his death.

The funeral rites were held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Bendorf Funeral Home with Rev. John P. Brooks of the local Methodist Church officiating and interment was made in the Blair Cemetery.

The pallbearers were Walter and Clarence Sappenfield, George Hindley, Chris Wrich, Robert Hitchman and Frank Kiefer, all relatives of the deceased.
