John I. Unruh Dies Suddenly at His Home Friday-Blair Resident and Businessman More Than Forty Years

John I Unruh, retired businessman, died Friday morning. He had not been feeling well the day before but had been uptown and walked home. During the night her was taken ill and a physician was called but nothing radically wrong was found. He was found in bed the following morning.

Deceased was born July 19, 1856 in LaPorte County, Indiana, where he grew to manhood. In 1880 he went to Plattsmouth, Nebraska, where he went into the furniture business.

He was married to Miss Jennie M. Overton, of Ashland, Nebraska and to them four children were born who still survive, the wife passing away in 1934. The children are Mrs. Cara Struxness, Minatare, Nebraska, Mrs. Mabel Butler, Houston, Texas; George of Eagle, Nebraska, and Mrs. Winnifred Selby, of Blair.

The family moved to Blair in 1902 where the decreased entered the furniture business, which he continued for a long term of years, retiring a few years ago.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the home on West Grant Street with Rev. Kennedy officiating, and interment was made in the Blair Cemetery.
