Ruth Bruse, 91, died Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at her home in Blair.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at the First United Methodist Church in Blair. A graveside service will follow at the Blair Cemetery.

Ruth Jenkins was born March 5, 1917, in Tilden to Earl L. and Ida Irene Jenkins. She attended elementary school in Tilden and, after completion of the sixth grade, moved with her parents to Kennard, where she completed grades seven through nine. She graduated from Blair High School in 1935, and later attended Dana College and Van Sants Business College in Omaha. She was a member of Chapter EQ of the P.E.O Sisterhood in Blair, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, and a "Jim dandy mom."

She is survived by two sons, J. Charles Bruse of Washington, D.C., and Mark S. Bruse of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren; her brothers, Earl F. Jenkins of Lincoln and Warren C. Jenkins of Evanston, Ill.; cousins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John.

In lieu of flowers, memorial are suggested to the National Arthritis Foundation or First United Methodist Church in Blair.
