15 Jan., 1942 - The Enterprise - Goldie Utterback Mrs. E. Utterback Dies in Hospital

Mrs. Elmer Utterback, 40-year old Arlington woman, died in an Omaha hospital last Thursday, January 8. Funeral services were held at the Reckmeyer Funeral Chapel on Saturday afternoon, with Rev. H. C, Van Valkenburgh, Congregational pastor, in charge

Mrs. Blanch Wood Keller sang “Sometime We’ll Understand” and “Abide With Me”, with Mrs. Alice Newcomb accompanying. Pallbearers were Ernest Laaker, Henry Peters, Harry Daniels, Arthur Springgate, Homer Miller, Harold Weber, and Leo Weber.

As Goldie Butterfield, Mrs. Utterback was born to Mr. and Mrs. John Butterfield, of near Howells, June 23, 1901; she was one of a family of nine. She was a chef in Fremont for ten years before coming to Arlington.

Beside the husband and five stepchildren, survivors are three brothers, Hugh and Percy of Stanton, Kenneth of Omaha; and four sisters, Mrs. Ethel Baker of Torrington, Wyoming, Mrs. Edna Michaelis of Stafford, Mrs. Ellen McPherson of Fremont, and Mrs. Sylvia Dodge of Newport; a half-brother, John of Stanton, and a half-sister, Mrs. Elsie Osborne of Scottsbluff.

Attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Butterfield of Ames; Mrs. and Mrs. Kenneth Butterfield, Misses Frieda Wiltfang and Ruby Butterfield of Omaha; Mrs. Ellen McPherson, Mr. and Mrs. Robert McPherson, Mr. and Mrs. Millard Utterback and Bennie, and Mrs. Dorothy Bishop of Fremont; Mrs. Sylvia Dodge and Mrs. Harold McMillan of Newport; Mrs. Edna Michaelis, Melvin Michaelis and Miss Sarah O’Donnell of Stafford; Hugh, Percy and John Butterfield, Elmer and Alice Butterfield, and Mrs. Ridder of Stanton; Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Utterback of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Utterback of Beaver Crossing; and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Hindley of Blair. Grave Memorial # 42992612
