John C. Forsberg Buried At Herman Monday, January 15

John C. Forsberg of Herman, Nebraska, passed away Friday, January 12, 1973, at the Oakland Memorial Hospital, Oakland, Nebraska, at the age of 71 years, 3 months and 21 days. He was born at Bertha, Nebraska, the son of Mr. and Mrs. August Forsberg. He was baptized as an infant in the Lutheran Faith. He came to the Herman Community as a young man and made his home with his brother, Frances Forsberg and family.

In 1936 he was untied in marriage with Freda Hermann and to this union three children were born, two daughters and one son. He was a past member of the Masonic Royal Arch Lodge at Oakland, Nebraska, and a member of the Herman Community Club for several years. He was manager of the meat department of Potadle Brothers Store for twenty years. After that he was manager of the meat department of the Herman Market until August, when he became ill and has had failing health until the time of his death.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Freda; daughters, Mrs. David (Patricia) Stringer, Jacksonville, Florida, Mrs. Roland (Jaccie) Morgan, Cambridge, Nebraska; son, Friend J. of Oakland, Nebraska; 7 grandchildren, 2 sisters; Mrs. Clara Tinsman, Lexington, Nebraska, and Mrs. Ollie Hoaganson of Saskatchewan, Canada. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held at the Herman Methodist Church Monday, at 11:00 A.M., January 15, 1973, with Pastor Zack Kleinsasser officiating. Pallbearers were: Gilbert Potadle, Cameron Jackson, Walter Kruse, Clare Johnson, Terry Andrew and Joe Fitch. Concluding services were held at the Herman Cemetery.
