Death Releases Mae Plumb, 13, From Illness-Long Sickness Result of Childhood Disease Contract Last May

Following as illness of nearly eight months duration, Mae Plumb of Blair, died in an Omaha hospital last Thursday. Last May the little girl became ill with the measles, and complication which arose from the disease were the cause of her death. She had recently submitted to an operation in an unsuccessful effort to restore her health.

Mae was born on May 12, 1929, and had spent the entire span of her short lifetime in Blair. She attended Blair Public School, and had begun her studies in the eight grade last fall, even though her work was frequently interrupted by illness.

Survivors include her parents John and Dorothy (Short), and two sisters, Jeanette of Blair and Mrs. William Havranek of Rockford, Illinois, formerly Miss Dolores Plumb of Blair.

A brother Billie, who drowned nearly four years ago in the Missouri River, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at Bendorf Funeral Home, Sunday, with Rev. D. D. Kennedy officiating, and burial was made in Blair Cemetery. A group of Girl Scouts sang at the service; six schoolmates, including Marguerite Hansen, Genene Husk, Barbara Alber, Virginia Thompson, Thomasene Bendorf, and Marilyn, served as pallbearers.
