Gloria E. Cummins Hieber passed away at CHI Bergan Mercy on February 6, 2019.

Gloria was born on January 10, 1954 to Robert and Phyllis Cummins. She graduated from West Monona High School in 1973.

Gloria was a great mother, grandmother, friend and caregiver. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, daughter and granddaughter. She also enjoyed going to thrift shops to look for cookbooks

She and her granddaughter shared two favorite songs, “Cowgirls Don’t Cry” by Brooks and Dunn, and her special “Happy Birthday Song,” that she made up.

Gloria was a certified nursing assistant for most of her life, and worked for Crowell Memorial Home briefly, and for 14 years for Good Shepherd Home. In addition to a CNA Gloria drove an and ambulance for transfers and she was also a waitress. Gloria was a great mother, grandmother, caregiver and friend. Her laugh was always a great sound and contagious.

Gloria is survived by her children, Ragene (Scott) Allen of Blair, Nebraska, Kevin Cavanaugh of Iowa, granddaughter; Kelci Allen, siblings; Mike (Karen) Cummins of Onawa, IA and Nancy (Rick) Bottjen of Sioux City, Iowa and many, many friends.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Phyllis and her brother, Bradley Cummins.

A Celebration of Life will be held on a warmer day, to be announced at a late date.
