James P. Sorensen, Dead at 66-Well-Known Blair Farmer, Ex-Dairyman, Dies of Heart Attack

A sudden heart attack last Thursday night proved fatal to James P. Sorensen, 66, native of Washington County who had long farmed near Blair.

Mr. Sorensen died at his farm home just southeast of Blair. He had formerly operated a dairy which was headquartered at his farm.

The body was taken to Campbell Mortuary, and funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church. Officiating was the pastor, the Rev. H. C. Jorgensen, assisted by Rev. Paul Nyholm, and burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Mr. Sorensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sorensen, was born at Arlington September 25, 1884, and with the exception of one year spent in California had spent his entire life in this county. He and Emma Andreasen were married Oct. 21, 1908.

Surviving Mr. Sorensen are his wife, Emma; two sons, Don Sorensen, who owns the Sorensen Hardware, and James Sorensen, Sr., Blair High School student and football player.; a daughter, Mts. William Thompson (Elsie) of San Diego, Calif.; one brother, Hans Sorensen of Kennard and a sister, Mrs. Robert Widener (Christina) of northwest of Blair. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Tommy and Julie Sorensen of Blair and Alan Frostrum of Los Angeles.

J. P. SORENSEN DIES OF HEART ATTACK

J. P. Sorensen, farmer living south of Blair, died Thursday evening, March 1, of a heart attack. He had been about his duties as usual but had not felt well. The attack came suddenly.

He was a native of this county and was sixty-six years of age at his death. He was married to Emma Andreasen October 19, 1909 and to them four children were born, one passing away in infancy. The three living are Mrs. Elsie Thompson of San Diego, California, Don Sorensen of Blair and James at home. Besides these three children and the bereaved wife, he leaves a brother, Hans Sorensen of Washington, a sister, Mrs. Robert Widener of Herman ad three grandchildren.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Blair, and the funeral was held in that church on Monday at 2 pm with Rev. Jorgensen officiating, and burial under the supervision of the Campbell Mortuary was made in the Blair cemetery.
