Mrs. Jens C. Sorensen Dies of Pneumonia-Early Settler Passes At Age of 81 Years-On same Farm 45 Years

Mrs. Jens C. Sorensen, one of the early settlers of the county, died Wednesday morning at the Fremont Hospital where she had been taken for treatment. She was the victim of an attack of pneumonia from which she had suffered for about ten days.

Mrs. Sorensen was born in Denmark on July 1, 1860, and had she reached her next birthday she would have been 82 years of age. She grew to womanhood in Denmark and on January 20, 1887 she was married to Jens Christian Sorensen and they soon embarked for American, coming to this county which had since been their home.

For the past forty-five years they have resided on their farm southwest of Orum, Here they became a part of the community and were active members of the Danish Lutheran Church of Orum.

A daughter, Mrs. Robert Rasmussen, with the bereaved husband and three grandchildren are left to mourn her departure.

Funeral services will be held at the Danish Lutheran Church of Orum on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and interment will be made in the Orum Cemetery.
