Henry L. Kuhr, an old settler of the county, passed away at the Blair Hospital on Friday, November 6, after an illness of five weeks.

Deceased was born in Iowa, March 12, 1871, and was thus 71 years, 7 months, and 23 days old at his death. When a child his parents moved to county where he has since resided.

He was married to Miss Katie Wulf on February 26, 1895 and they at once took up farming in the Orum vicinity where they lived of 36 years, moving to Blair eleven years ago.

Six children were born to them, two sons, Arthur and Albert, and three daughters, Mrs. Harry Madsen, Mrs. Otto Arp, and Mrs. Harold Rasmussen, with the wife survive, besides eight grandchildren.

Besides these, four brothers, George, William, John, and Otto, and three sisters, Mrs. Hans Wrich, Mrs. Albert Hansen, and Mrs. Carl Wolff, survive and join with the immediate family in their great loss.

Mr. Kuhr was known for his honest, straight-forward living. In his home life he was all that a husband and father could be and among his friends he was held in the highest esteem.

Funeral services were held last Monday at the Methodist Church under the direction of Chris K. Bendorf and with Rev. John P. Brooks and Rev. Carlson officiating and interment was made in the Blair Cemetery.
