Gottlieb Storz, Brewer, is Dead-Cousin of Late Mrs. Mina Schmidt, He Owned Property in Blair

Gottlieb Storz, 87, president of the Storz Brewing Company of Omaha, died Tuesday morning at his home in Omaha. He had been in excellent health and had been spending each day at the office.

Mr. Storz was a cousin of the late Mrs. Minnie Schmidt of Blair and thus is related to her son, Carl J. Schmidt, of this city.

He owned at least three farms in the Blair vicinity and also the Smokehouse building, west of the Beekmann Store. He had often visited here at the Schmidt home.

Mr. Storz was born in Benningen am Neckar, Germany in 1852. At the age of 14, after the death of his parents, Mr. Storz entered the brewing trade. In 1872 he came to America. After two years in New York and two years in St. Louis, he came to Omaha. His brewery there has been in continuous operation even since.

The Storz brewing business will be continued by three sons, Adolph, Arthur and Robert Stortz, who have been associated in the management of the business for a number of years.
