Funeral services for John Dixon of Fort Calhoun, well-known Washington County farmer who passed away April 9, were held at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church, Saturday afternoon, with Rev. J. D. Johnson of Blair in charge. Burial was made in the Blair Cemetery.

Mr. Dixon was born December 31, 1865, in Illinois coming to Washington County in 1884. He had spent the rest of his life in the Blair and Fort Calhoun vicinities with the exception of two years in Grant County and five years in western Iowa.

On March 12, 1889, he was untied in marriage to Miss Frances Gochenouer. The ceremony was preformed at Blair. Three sons, all of whom survive, were born to the couple; they are Ira of Ainsley, Curtis of Fort Calhoun, and Fred of Bennington.

Mr. and Mrs. Dixon celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary as recently as 1939, entertaining a large group of friends at an open house at the Fort Calhoun Masonic Hall.>p? Find a Grave Memorial # 113379061
