Funeral services were held Monday, January 29 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum with Rev. Chris Beyer officiating for Meta Marie Buchardt, age 89, of Blair, who died at the Good Shepherd Home on January 26, 1990. Burial was in the Orum Cemetery.

Meta Marie Buchardt was born March 15, 1900 at Kennard, Nebraska, to John P. and Johanna Bode Wolsmann. She attended the Brewster School.

February 23, 1921 she married Nels Buchardt in Blair, Nebraska. They farmed in Blair and DeSoto area their entire life.

Nels preceded her in death in June, 1973.

Meta continued to live on the farm until March, 1989, at which time she entered the Memorial Community Hospital and in July, 1989 moved to the Good Shepherd Home.

Meta was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers and one sister.

Meta is survived by her daughter, Dorothy (Mrs. George) Schmidt, of Omaha, Nebraska; her son and daughter-in-law, Norman and Eleanor Buchardt, Blair, Nebraska; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Marie Neilsen of Blair.
