Norman W. Buchardt, 75, of Blair, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 15, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Norman William Buchardt was born Jan. 1, 1930 in Washington County to Nels and Meta (Wolsmann) Buchardt. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Blair, and graduated from Blair High School in 1947.

On Oct. 15, 1950, he married Eleanor Schlote at Fremont. He worked for Storz Distributing in Blair prior to farming at the DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge. He was an avid bowler and loved antique sales and playing cards. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Patty Buchardt, Edward and LuAnn Buchardt; daughter and son-in-law, Jacque and Edwin Belles, all of Blair; five grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Schmidt of Omaha; his 100-year-old aunt, Marie Nielsen of Blair; brother -in-law, and wife, Dale and Estelle Schlote of Germantown, Wis.; sisters-in-law and husbands, Betty and John Wolsmann and Karolyn and Norman Van Beek, all of Blair, and Jean Johnson of Bonita Springs, Fla.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
