Funeral services for Shirley A. Bucklin, 66, of Blair, were held Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at First Christian Church in Blair. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery in Blair. Mrs. Bucklin lost her battle with cancer on May 24 and died in her home.

Shirley Ann (Shoman) Bucklin was born May 19, 1936, to Mildred Shoman-Hagler in Frankford, Ind.

On June 12, 1966, she married Leslie Bucklin in Blair.

Mrs. Bucklin worked at Artex Hobby Products for 12 years, until they closed in May of 1981. Soon after that, she operated her own housecleaning business. She also worked part time at Wulf's One Stop and Petro-Mart.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Blair, and volunteered at the hospital auxiliary. Her hobbies included painting with Artex paints, ceramics, and planting flowers in the family yard, but most of all, she enjoyed being with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Les, and her six children and their spouses: Linda and Jeff Lauritsen of Kennard, Don and Susan Stodola of Fillmore, Ind., Terry and Jan Stodola of Blair, Sherry Stodola of Elk City, Steve Stodola of Blair, Merri and Bob Hightree of Blair. She also leaves 10 granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred, and her brother, Ronald "Bud."

Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church Building Fund.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
