Mrs. Arthur Rose Rites Thursday

The countryside of DeSoto was shocked Monday to hear of the sudden death of Mrs. Arthur Rowe of a heart attack. She had been ill for about two weeks but was taken violently ill on Monday and was rushed to the Doctors Hospital in Omaha where she died in about an hour after her arrival.

Grace Wallace was born just north of Blair on July 31, 1901 and was thus only 41 years of age.

When she was about eighteen years of age she was married to Arthur Rowe and them one son, Dwight Rowe, now 21 years of age and Norma Wright, were born. Dwight is serving his country but reached home Wednesday. Mrs. Wright with her husband is in Portland, Oregon and was unable to come home.

Besides these two children and the husband she leaves her mother, Mrs. Jennie Wallace and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Ruffcorn of Mondamin, Iowa, Mrs. Pete Jones of Calhoun, and Mrs. Jake Christensen of Exira, Iowa and three brothers, James Wallace of Craig, Nebr., Frank of Omaha and Russ of DeSoto.

Funeral services are being held this afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Methodist Church with Rev. John P. Brooks officiating and interment under the supervision of J. E. Campbell will be in the Blair Cemetery.
