Jacob Andreasen Rites Tuesday

Jacob Andreasen, as early settler of this county, was born in Denmark March 1st, 1857 and passed away Saturday, October 18th at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Martin Bertelsen, of Blair.

He came to this county as a young man with his future wife to whom he was at the time engaged.

They came first to Bunker Hill, Illinois, where they were married November 18, 1880. Shortly after this they moved to Omaha where four of their children were born. In 1890 they bought a farm west of Kennard where they resided until 1911 when they moved to Blair.

The wife passed away October 26, 1927. The surviving children are Robert of Blair; Elmer and Fred of Kennard; Arthur of Lyons and Mrs. James Sorensen, Mrs. Martin Bertelsen and Mrs. Paul Kempcke all of Blair. Two children preceded him in death, a daughter, Anna in 1913, and a son Charles, in 1927. Twenty-seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 21, from the Martin Bertelsen home and from the First Lutheran Church, of which he was a faithful member, and interment was made at the Blair Cemetery. C. K Bendorf, mortician, had charge of the ceremonies.
