Word has been received of the death of Mrs. Marie Neumann of Fort Morgan, Colo., mother of C. B. Neumann of Fort Calhoun. Mrs. Neumann at one time made her home in Fort Calhoun. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Fort Morgan.

The following was from the Find a Grave record: Marie was born to Johan and Marie Durr Schneemeyer. Maria's place of birth has been documented as Austria, Hungary, and Russia but very likely Furendorf which was in Hungary until after WW I. In 1904 Marie and Clemens sailed on the S.S. Belgravia from Hamburg on March 25 and arrived at Ellis Island in New York on April 10. Her last known address was listed as Furendorf, Hungary. . She and Clemens were sponsored by her brother, Michael (F-A-G 18176520) in Nebraska.

Marie married William Neumann in Florence, Nebraska on June 7, 1904. Clemens lived with William and Marie and took the Neumann name. Marie's mother also lived with them through 1920 and is presumed to have died prior to 1930. William and Marie moved to Ft. Morgan, CO in the 1920s.

Marie and William lived at 212 Lincoln St. in Ft. Morgan, Colorado after the late 1920s. She spent the last year of her life in the Eben-Ezer Lutheran Home in Brush.
