Ed Wild, known to hundreds of early Blair residents as Doc, died on Christmas night at Mrs. Dick Stricklett's home where he had resided the past three years. Wild, a veterinarian and liveryman here for many years, was 91 years old, confined to a bed for the past two months. Mr. Wild had been ailing the past two years.

Funeral services were conducted at the Campbell Mortuary Monday afternoon by Rev. John P. Brooks, pastor of First Methodist Church. Interment followed in Blair Cemetery.

Born October 10, 1851, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Wild, Mr. Wild was living in the vicinity before Blair was founded in 1869. He conducted a popular livery business years ago located variously on Front Street, Walker Ave. and Washington Street.

Surviving him are a sister, Mrs. S. Leslie of Council Bluffs; a brother, Elmer of Fremont; a number of nephews and nieces, including Mrs. G. E. Stanley and Mrs. Bertha McManigal of Blair.

Edward Wild, 91, Passed Away on Christmas Day

Edward Wild, the last of the pioneers of Blair, died on Christmas Day, at the age of 91 years.

Born in Scioto County, Ohio, in 1851, Mr. Wild came to Washington County as a small boy. His family, all of which preceded him in death, settled in Cuming City before the town of Blair came into existence.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. S. Leslie of Council Bluffs, a brother, Elmer Wilds of Fremont, and several nieces, nephew and other relatives. Funeral services were held Monday at two o’clock from the Campbell Mortuary, with Rev. John P. Brooks officiating. Interment was made in the Blair Cemetery.
