Joern, Donald H. Jan 22, 1939 - Mar 31, 2015 Springfield NE. Don graduated from Springfield High School in 1956 and Dana College in 1960. He was the Dana College Honor Athlete in 1960. Don's life work was teaching and coaching. He taught in many towns in Nebraska. He was on the faculty of Papillion LaVista Junior High for 25 years. He would like to be remembered for his love of his family, his home town, Husker football, the music of Buddy Holly and Doo-Wop and a well-written non-fiction book. Preceded in death by parents, Don and Margaret. Survived by siblings: Linda and Bruce Boles, Brad and Pam Joern, Gayle and Jim Erhart; nieces, Shannon Joern and Matt Youngblood, Raegan Joern and Jacob Schultz, Kelli and Zach Berger, Jourdan and Jeff Hay, Lindley Erhart; 3 great nieces; 3 great nephews; aunt and uncle, Grace and Rich Safarik; numerous cousins and friends.
FUNERAL SERVICES 10am Tuesday, April 7 at Kahler-Dolce Mortuary. VISITATION 1-8pm Monday, April 6 with family receiving friends from 4-8pm. Interment: Springfield Cemetery.
