BERTHA JENSEN JACOB, 79

Bertha Jensen Jacob, age 79, of Blair, passed away Thursday afternoon, Sept. 1 at her home in rural Blair.

Bertha was born on Nov. 3, 1908, at Kennard, to Henry and Johanna Jensen. She attended Brewster School. She was baptized and confirmed at the Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard, where she was an active member all of her life.

Bertha was united in marriage to Lloyd Jacob on March 12, 1930. The couple farmed northwest of Kennard and were still residing on their farm. Survivors include her husband, Lloyd, daughters Doris Sorensen and JoAnn Japp of Kennard, Ruth Hagerbaumer of Hooper, and one son, Herman of Arlington. There were 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and 4 brothers. Ella Rahlfs and Albert Jensen, both of Blair, are surviving sister and brother.

Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 5, at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard, with Rev. Norman Lillegard officiating. Melvin Misfeldt sang "Abide with Me" and "The Lord's My Shepherd" and Norma Klotz was the accompanist.

Pallbearers were her six grandsons, Jeff Jacob, Jerald Jacob, Steve Sorensen, David Japp, Ted Japp, and Kent Christensen. Interment was at the Kennard Cemetery.

Preceded in death by 4 brothers, Arthur Jensen, William Jensen, Leslie Jensen, Oscar Jensen, and one sister, Mable Swanson.
