J. E. Jensen Accident Victim, Buried Tuesday-Was Crushed Beneath Grader near Leon Iowa, Sept 29

Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist Church of Blair on Tuesday afternoon, for J. Emil Jensen, 46, who passed away in the hospital at Leon, Iowa, on Sunday, September 29. Rev. Thomas J. Reese of Jefferson City, Iowa, a former pastor of the Blair congregation, was in charge of the rites. Interment was made in the Blair Cemetery.

Mr. Jensen’s death came almost instantly as the result of an accident which occurred near Leon, when the grader which he was operating struck loose dirt, rolled down an embankment, crushing his body beneath it.

The son of Mrs. J. B. Jensen and the late J. B. Jensen, he was born on a farm west of Blair, June 14, 1894. He was married to Anna Goldborg of Arlington on May 2, 1917, and to their union three children were born, all of who survive. They are Mrs. Maxine Metzler of Waterloo, Iowa, Wilbur Jensen of Madison, Nebraska, and Jack Jensen of Leon, Iowa.

Also left to mourn his passing are the wife and his mother; three brother, Soren Jensen of Herman, Chris Jensen of Blair, and William Jensen of Stanton, Iowa; six sisters, Mrs. Detlef Wulf, Miss Hanna Jensen, and Mrs. R. J. Schenk of Blair; Eleanor Kastl of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Chester Heuerman of Arlington; and Mrs. Cleo Hall of Omaha. Also three grandchildren and other relatives, and a host of friends.

All members of the immediate family, with the exception of Mrs. Kastl, were present for the rites, Tuesday.
