Former Countian Dies Suddenly

Word reached Blair of the sudden death of Thomas Barry on Thursday evening at his home in Hastings, Nebraska.

Tom was born on the home farm south of Blair, the son of Michael, now deceased, and Mary Barry, on March 11, 1881. He grew to manhood here and received his education in the district school. He was married to Lillian Pontzius on January 25, 1905, and to them four sons and three daughters were born, all of whom survive. The wife died five years ago.

After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Barry resided here until twenty-four years ago when they moved to Hastings where he reside until his death.

Beside the children, he leaves his mother, Mrs. Mary Barry, and six brothers, Joe of Omaha, James of Los Angles, California, John…the remainder of the newspaper clipping is missing.

Note: The Vig notes at the Danish American Archives has his death date recorded as March 27, 1941.
