Grace M. (Pilcher) Hancock Mrs. G. Hancock Death Victim Early Wednesday; Native of Washington County Old Time Families

Mrs. Grace Hancock, who suffered a paralytic stroke on last February 14th, passed away yesterday (Wednesday), at 12:40 p.m. Deceased was born on the old Pilcher farm northwest of Blair on December 23,1881, and grew to womanhood there. She was married to Burdette Hancock on March 25, 1903, in the local Baptist Church, and for a few years lived on a farm in Cumming City Township.

They later moved to Blair and the husband secured the position of mail carrier which position he filled for seventeen years or up to the time of his death on August 23, 1939.

No children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Hancock and the loss of the husband bore heavily upon her. She leaves to mourn her passing a sister, Mrs. M. V. Wilson of Blair, and two brothers, Charles Pilcher of Omaha and Lloyd Pilcher of Lincoln, besides a number of nephews and nieces.

Funeral services under the supervision of J. E. Campbell, mortician, will be held from the Congregational Church next Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. R. W. Hastings officiating and interment will be made in the Blair Cemetery.
