The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth A. Allen was held Wednesday morning from the Baptist church, her remains being brought to Blair from Topeka, Kansas, where she died Sunday morning. Elizabeth Ann Farabee was born in Washington county, Indiana, April 2, 1846. She was married in 1865 to Charles H. Rodman and to them were born nine children, six of whom survive her, Charles Rodman of Omaha, Mrs. John Moore, Frank Rodman and Misses Mary, Hettie and Nannie Rodman of Blair. She moved to Nebraska about eighteen years ago living at Tekamah for a few years, then coming to Blair, where she resided until 1897. In May, 1897, she was married to Mr. F. B. Allen and made her home in Topeka, Kansas, until her death. For several months past she has been a constant sufferer and death came as a sweet release. She was a loving wife, a good mother, a kind friend and neighbor and a consistent Christian, having been a member of the Baptist church since childhood. Rev. Tingley officiated at the funeral services and a large concourse of friends followed her body to the cemetery.
