Died Friday at age 85 at York. Born in Minneapolis, MN, after which he was adopted by John A. and Elizabeth (Lutz) Hoeft of Shafer, MN. Retired Lutheran Minister serving Iowa, Nebraska and Minnesota, retiring in 1992. He is survived by his wife Jane of York; son, Dr. David (Michelle) Hoeft of Omaha; 2 daughters, Nancy (Steve) Groves of Westminster, CO, and Karen (Buck) Johnson of Bayard, NE; 7 grandchildren; 2 foster brothers, Arthur Dufault of Apple Valley, MN, and Loren (Darlene) Sparby of Shafer, MN; and mother-in-law Ruth Andreasen of Stewartville, MN.

FUNERAL SERVICES are scheduled for 2pm Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in York, with the Reverend Terry Cosier officiating. Burial in York's Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. VISITATION begins after 1pm Monday, with the family greeting friends 7-8:30pm later that evening at the Mortuary.
