Luella Bay (Bovee) Fowler
Died on 7/19/1904
Buried in New England Cemetery

Died – At the home of her mother, Mrs. E. C. Bovee, on Tuesday, July 19, at 8 a.m., Mrs. Luella Fowler, beloved wife of Rev. Wm. G. Fowler, of Humphrey, Neb., of consumption of the bowels. She was 34 years, 2 months and 14 days old.

Luella May Bovee was born May 5, 1870, in McLean County, Ill. When a child she came with her parents to Washington County, Neb. Here she resided until Dec. 25, 1889, when she was married to William G. Fowler of Dixon County, Neb. To them were born three children, Joy aged 13, Ruth aged 8 and Ray aged 5. Since the fall of 1901, their home has been in a Methodist parsonage, and for the last two years at Humphrey, Neb.

In September last at Fremont, Neb., while attending the session of the North Nebraska Conference, she took cold which gradually developed other complications and she became weaker. About two months ago she came to Blair where in the early morning of July 19th, with husband and children, mother and sister waiting at her bedside, Jesus came and took her. Her father and many dear friends were already in heaven so that will not be a strange land to which she has gone.

Luella gave her heart to God when but thirteen years of age and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church at Vacoma, Washington County. Her life was spent for those she loved and in the service of the Master. Happy at last in her Savior’s love, after long suffering but great victory, she was glad to be at rest.

The funeral services were conducted at the M.E. Church in this city by Rev. F. M. Sisson, D. D., Presiding Elder of the Norfolk District, assisted by the Pastor, on Thursday, July 21st, at 10 a.m., and the body was interred at the New England Cemetery, near her father and other loved ones. May the Holy Spirit comfort these bereaved hearts by his own presence.
