Mrs. Wm. Kuhr Is Victim of Pneumonia

Mrs. William F. Kuhr passed away in an Omaha hospital Friday morning a 6:00 o’clock, the victim of an attack of pneumonia which lasted but a few years.

Alvena Wulf was born April 5, 1884 on a farm west of Blair, the daughter of the late Mrs. Wiebke Wulf. Here she grew to womanhood and on April 22, 1903, she was married to William F. Kuhr. The young couple moved at one to a farm near Kennard where they live for twelve years.

Three children were born during the time they reside on the farm and wishing to give them better opportunities for schooling they moved to Kennard. Here they resided for seven years. Owing to an accident to Mrs. Kuhr’s mother the family moved to Blair so that Mrs. Kuhr could care for her. They have reside here for the past fifteen years.

For some time, Mrs. Kuhr has been in failing health due to a heart ailment. She developed pneumonia on Wednesday of last week and was first taken to the Blair Hospital but her case was so acute that she was taken to an Omaha hospital where she was placed in an oxygen tent but science and skill combined failed to save her and she succumbed to the dread disease on Friday morning at 6:00 o’clock.

She leaves to mourn her death three children, one son and two daughters, Clarence of Blair, Mrs. Edith George of Omaha and Mrs. Vivian Ryan of Kennard and the husband all of which will miss her kindly ministrations each as only a wife and mother can give.

Beside the immediate family she leaves two brothers, Fred and Detlef Wulf of Orum and two sisters, Mrs. Eda Reeh and Mrs. Henry Kuhr of Blair and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2:00 p.m. from the Methodist Church with Rev. Ralph P. Rasmussen officiating and interment was made in the Blair Cemetery.
