Woman Drops Dead In Blair Restaurant-Wife Of Former County Official Victim Of Heart Attack

Mrs. Elizabeth Faber, seventy-one years of age, died suddenly Monday of heart trouble. She had gone to the bus depot and inquired about the time of the departure of the bus for Fort Calhoun. After obtaining the information she took a booth in the Eat Shop and ordered a lunch. When practically through she left the booth and on her way to the door she stumbled several time. Mr. King, the proprietor, ran to her and caught her as she collapsed.

Dr. W. C. Bell of Herman, who was also in the Eat Shop, rendered all the assistance possible by administering a heart stimulant but it proved to no avail, death was sudden.

Mrs. Faber was born in Germany and with her mother came to America in 1880, settling for one year in Connecticut and moving to this county in 1881.

When about twenty years of age she was married to Henry Faber. There were no children and about twenty-five years ago when Mr. Faber died in Hooper, Nebraska, she was left alone. For a number of years, she lived with her half-brother, Max Beckmann. About two years ago she moved to Blair where she purchased a home on Grant Street which she made her home until her death.

She leaves a brother, Andrew Bohs of west of Blair; a half-brother, Max Beckmann, and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Faber of Omaha beside a number of other relatives to mourn her death.

The older inhabitants of Blair will well remember the husband, Henry Faber, who served the county, both as county treasurer and county clerk. At that time Mr. and Mrs. Faber were very popular in Blair circles and these old friends will grieve over the sad death of Mrs. Faber.
