Carl C. Buhl, 81, of rural Fremont, died Sunday, January 19, in Valhaven Nursing Home in Valley.

He was born November 11, 1904, in Dannebrog. He lived in St. Paul and Lindsay before coming to the Fremont area around 1920. He farmed east of Fremont all of his life and retired in 1965.

Mr. Buhl was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Valley. He graduated from Fremont Senior High School and attended Midland Lutheran College.

He married Bernita Tucker September 5, 1928, in Waterloo. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Carl D. Buhl of Valley; three daughters, Mrs. Ed (Joyce) Lewis of Valley, Mrs. Fred (Mary Lou) Nimerichter and Mrs. Ed (Carol ) Capps, both of Aurora, Colorado; one brother, Dr. Clayton Buhl of Fountain Hills, Arizona; one sister, Mrs. Alice Nielsen of Fremont; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Valley. The Rev. Lawrence Sundell officiated. Services were at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. Memorials may be given to the church or to Arlington Rescue Squad. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Elkhorn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marinus and Mary (Petersen) Buhl; and a son, John R. Buhl.

Pallbearers are: Brad Lewis, Louie Bertelsen, Ronnie Boardman, Terry Buhl, Lee Nielsen and Blaine Matsumoto.

Organist was Mrs. Marjorie Sundell.
