urvived by Son Rockford (Mary), Blair NE; daughter Cindie Miller Omaha NE; daughter Kelly Kuhns (Scott) La Vista NE; 4 granddaughters and 8 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents Ralph and Frieda Shanks (Schaning). Richard grew up in Belle & Summerfield MO and later served in the US Army and US Air Force in which he retired in 1972. He served his country during WWII, Korean and Viet Nam eras.

Richard will be buried at Schaning Cemetery in Summerfield MO alongside his parents and grandparents.
