Maren Christina (Mrs. N.P.) Nielsen died at the Good Shepherd Home, Blair, on Tuesday, March 14 at the age of 79 years, four months and thirteen days.

She was born to Peter and Sophie (Andersen) Olsen at Poy Sippi, Wisconsin, on November 1, 1887.

She was united in marriage with the Reverend N.P. Nielsen at Poy Sippi on September 11, 1913.

They made their home where he served parishes at Clinton, Wisconsin, at Atlantic, Iowa, at Plainview and Winnetoon, Nebraska, at Luck and North Luck, Wis., at Viborg, Spring Valley and Turkey Valley, South Dakota, again at Turkey Valley, South Dakota, again at Clinton, Wis., and at Laurel, Nebr. They retired to Blair in 1946, after which Mr. Nielsen died on March 31, 1952, and Mrs. Nielsen took residence in the Good Shepherd Home on April 18, 1958.

Nine children were born to their union, of whom one son, Rudolph, died in childhood. They are survived by the following sons and daughters: Dagmar (Mrs. Keith Knudsen of Lincoln; Lydia (Mrs. Otto)Stave of Blair; Lela (Mrs. Paul) Neve of Blair; Adolph of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Merle Dean of St. Cloud, Minnesota; LeVern of Stoughton, Wisconsin; Carl of Creighton, and Vera Mae (Mrs. Charles) Doidge of Redwood Falls, Minn. Thirty grandchildren and three great grandchildren survive her, as do a sister, Mrs. Andrew Nielsen of Glendale, Arizona, and two brothers, Alfred Olsen of Poy Sippi and Andrew Olsen of San Clemente, California, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 17, 2:00 p.m., in the First Lutheran Church, Blair, and at the Blair cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons. They are Herbert Knudsen, Dennis Stave, Leon Neve, Lynn Nielsen, Larry Nielsen and Loyd Neve.

The family requests that any memorials be given to the Good Shepherd Home, Blair.

Bendorf Funeral Home is in charge.
