#2-19 Oct., 1910 - The Pilot - Elizabeth (Landsbury) Bump

Mrs. N. E. Bump died at the hospital at 8:40 Monday morning of chirrosis, or hardening of the liver. She had been ailing for about three months past, and was taken to the hospital a month ago yesterday where she was given every care and attention. She was conscious up to Friday and so met death without pain and among pleasant surroundings. The funeral will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal church at 3 o’clock this afternoon, Rev. A. E. Marsh, her pastor for many years and her helper in many ways, officiating. She came here from Fredonia, New York with her husband 34 years ago this November, and Mr. Bump died Jan. 10th, 1908, leaving her practically alone in the world since they had no children. He died at the age of 71 and she was 71 last July. Mrs. J. W. Landsbury of Calhan, Colo. is a sister-in-law of the deceased and her son, John, who is well known here, is a nephew. They are the nearest relatives now living. They raised a boy, Orton Gifford, who is now in Wapleton, N.D., but he was never formally adopted. Mrs. Bump was a kindly old lady whom everyone loved and the memory of her sweet and generous spirit will ever remain a blessing to us all.
