Mrs. L. A. Wilcox died at her home in this city Sunday morning after an illness of about two weeks with pneumonia which resulted in heart failure. Mrs. Wilcox was born March 3, 1812 in Marion county, West Virginia, and was married to Mr. L. A. Wilcox on January 20, 1861 and came to Blair on May 12, 1869. To this union seven children were born, four girls Mina L. Martin, Mrs. Estelle S. Vaughan, Martha E, who died March 23, 1875 and Elizabeth. The boys are Ellis Herbert, Fred L. and Clarence G. Mrs. Wilcox was a sister of Felix Davis, of Salem, Oregon, and the late Judge Jesse T. Davis. She has one sister living in Virginia. She joined the Methodist church in an early day and ha over since had a consistent Christian life. Harry Vaughan and wife, and Fred L. Wilcox arrived home yesterday afternoon from the east by way of St. Paul and on the trip was snowbound for fourteen hours. Clarence is supposed to be on the way home now. No arrangements have been made for the funeral except that it will be held from the M.E. church. Besides the members of the family Mrs. Wilcox leaves many friends to mourn the loss of a good Christian neighbor.

Mrs. L. A. Wilcox died at her home in this city at 2 o’clock last Sunday morning, of pneumonia followed by heart failure. The funeral will be held at the Methodist church, of which she was a member, at 2 o’clock tomorrow, Rev. Shick officiating. She was 65 years of age and is survived by her husband and six children, three sons and three daughters. Two children live at Dixon, Neb., three in Missoula, Montana, and one son in Omaha. Mrs. Wilcox, with her husband, were pioneers of Blair, coming here in 1869. They were married in Amesville, Ohio, Jan. 30th, 1860. She was a sister of the late Jesse T. Davis, a former Blair resident.

Mrs. L. A. Wilcox, who was reported quite low in these columns last week, passed away Sunday morning after an illness of about two weeks with pneumonia and heart failure. Deceased was born in Marion county, West Virginia, March 3, 1842, and was married to L. A. Wilcox January 20, 1861, coming to Blair with her husband in the spring of 1869, thus having been one of our early settlers. She was the mother of seven children, six of whom besides the husband are left to mourn her death. Deceased was an ideal wife and a kind mother, always endeavoring to make the path of those around her brighter and doing all in her power to make the life of her children and husband happier because of her associations with them. Deceased had been a member of the Methodist church for a great number of yeas and he funeral services were conducted by Rev. Shick this afternoon from that church.
