#1-Washington Co. Review Herald, Arlington, NE 15 Dec 1910 Death of Peter Ryan

Word was received in Arlington Monday morning that Peter Ryan, a well known Washington county farmer, living northwest of town, had passed away in a Fremont hospital Monday night, the end coming very suddenly just after Mr. Ryan had been up and walked around his room. The funeral will be held at 10:30 today (Thursday), from the Catholic church at Fremont, Rev. father O’Sullivan, officiating.

Mr. Ryan was born in Washington county thirty-eight years ago, and resided here all his life. He is best known as the owner of Ryan’s lake, a beautiful little body of water that every summer attracts a great many camping, fishing, and picnicking parties. Mr. Ryan was possessed of a very pleasant disposition and always treated with great kindness the many visitors to his farm and lake.

The decedent is survived by his wife, one brother and his mother, all of whom reside in Washington county, and by two sisters who are residents of Blair.

Having been in failing health for the past four or five years, Peter Ryan, a well known farmer living on the west side of Washington county, died suddenly at the General hospital in Fremont last Monday night at 12:30 o’clock. Scarcely half an hour before he had been up and around his room and his death was entirely unexpected. Funeral services will be held at the Catholic church in Fremont on Thursday at 10 a.m., Rev. Fr. O’Sullivan officiating. The deceased is survived by his wife, one brother and his mother and two sisters, all of this county, the two sisters living near Blair.
