EDWARD MADSEN RITES ARE TODAY

Funeral services are being held today (Thursday) at the First Lutheran Church for Edward Madsen, well known farmer who has resided west of Blair all of his life. Mr. Madsen has been confined to the Methodist Hospital in Omaha since Sunday, April 11th. The deceased had been injured while handling a 22 caliber rifle and was found by his brothers in a dazed condition at his home west of Blair.

He was immediately rushed to the Omaha hospital where he was given medical attention but he failed to recover from his wounds.

Edward Madsen was born September 7, 1901 on the Madsen home place west of Blair and he had continued to make his home there for 52 years. He devoted his entire life to farming. He passed away April 20th at the Methodist Hospital.

He is survived by six brothers and two sisters and several nephews and nieces. His mother and father and two brothers had preceded him in death.

The surviving brothers are Robert, Elmer, Nels and Walter, with whom he lived. The others are Harry Madsen, of Blair and Albert Madsen of Herman. The sisters are Mrs. Ed Mencke (Ella) of Blair and Mrs. Chris Korshoj (Esther ) of Herman.

The Rev. H.C. Jorgensen will conduct the funeral services and burial will be made in the Orum cemetery.
