Mrs. Ella Vaughn Dies Monday

Had Been in Failing Health for Several Years

Mrs. Ella Sager Vaughn passed away at the home of her son, B. B. Vaughn, in Blair Monday evening following an illness of several months. The deceased as Ella Sager was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, May 30, 1858, and in the fall of 1884 she was united in marriage to Louis Vaughn of that city. Shortly after their marriage the couple came to Blair where they have since resided. Two children were born to this union, one of which died in infancy. Mr. Vaughn died in January 1923. Mrs. Vaughn was very active in Eastern Star work also in the Women Relief Corps.

Mrs. Vaughn had been in failing health for a number of years but always maintained a cheerful attitude toward life. As the result of her cheerfulness and kindly manner she made many friends and was loved by many.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her son, Burl B. Vaughn, and his wife; two little grandchildren, besides a large circle of friends. Funeral services will be conducted from the Methodist church at 2:00 o’clock this afternoon with Rev. W. Byron Pardun, officiating, after which interment will be made in the Blair Cemetery.

ELLA SAGER VAUGHN

Ella Sager was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa May 30, 1858, and passed away at the home of her son in Blair, Nebraska March 23, 1931, aged 72 years, 6 months and 28 days.

In the fall of 1884 she was united in marriage to Louis Vaughn in Cedar Rapids, and together the young couple came to Blair where they established their permanent residence. To this union two children were born, one of whom died in infancy. Mr. Vaughn preceded her in death January 6, 1923.

Mrs. Vaughn was for many years a member of the First Methodist Church of Blair, also an active and enthusiastic member of the Eastern Star, Mr. Vaughn having helped to found the Masonic Lodge here, and of the Women Relief Corps.

For many years prior to her death, Mrs. Vaughn had been in failing health, but always maintained a cheerful outlook on life. As the result of her cheerfulness and kindly manner, she made friends easily and was loved by many.

She leaves to mourn her passing her son, Burl B. Vaughn and his wife, her two little grandchildren and her many friends whose hearts go out in tenderest sympathy to these in their sad hour of bereavement.

Funeral services were held at the First Methodist church Thursday afternoon at two o’clock, the pastor, Rev. W. B. Pardun, officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
