Buried in Blair Cemetery

Blair Courier 12 Dec 1901

By his request the funeral of Peter Tyson, of Arlington, was held in the Methodist church at this place at one o’clock p.m. last Friday, Rev. J. L. Vallow officiating. An autopsy showed that death was caused by a cancer that formed between the walls of the stomach and finally poisoned the whole system, causing death. Mr. Tyson was born in Broughton, England, in 1844 and when six years of age came with his parents to this country, settling near Darlington, Wis. Here he married Miss Neff in 1862 and three years later she and her infant son died. He came to Nebraska in 1870 and settled on a place north of town near his brother Watson’s place. He was married to Miss Mary Beard in 1872 and to them an only son, Amasa, was born. Later Mr. Tyson bought a farm near Wm. Ervey’s and about eleven years ago bought the farm near Arlington on which he died. He has two brothers living, Watson, who lives north of this city, and George who lives at Darlington, Wisconsin, where also an invalid sister lives. One other sister, Mrs. Mary Fallen, lives in Los Angeles, California.
