Catharine C. Frahm, 88

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 9, at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Blair for Catharine C. Frahm, 88, of Fort Calhoun who died September 5, 1994, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair. Burial will be in Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. – 8:30 pm. On Thursday, September 8, there will be an Order of the Eastern Star service at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Catharine C. Frahm was born June 8, 1906, at Fort Calhoun to Fred and Sarah Beales Frahm. She grew up in Fort Calhoun and went to high school there.

She attended the University of Omaha and received her home economics degree from the University of Nebraska.

Her main vocation was as a medical technician. She was the first medical technician at Blair Community Hospital. Prior to working there, she worked at Rock Springs, Wyoming and in California.

She belonged to Naomi Chapter No. 121, Order of the Eastern Star in Fort Calhoun. Her 70 year certificate as a member will be presented to her posthumously Friday, September 9.

She was a member of the quilters group at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church for over 20 years.

A pioneer of Fort Calhoun, she had also served as secretary of the Washington County Historical Association for many years and was active with the Washington County Historical Museum.

She is survived by cousins, Sarah Genoways, Hannah Genoways, Catharine Beales, Ellen Ann Kanaley, John Beales, all of Fort Calhoun; Austin Beales, Omaha; Elizabeth Coffin, Lonpac, California, and Gertrude Frahm Johnson of Blair.

Memorials may be directed to the Washington County Historical Association.

Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
