Alex Cruickshank Dies In California

Alex Cruickshank, 68, former Blairite and son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Cruickshank of Blair, died Sunday in a hospital at Red Bluff, California. He had been stricken with paralysis which developed into pneumonia. Mr. Cruickshank was a brother of Mrs. Sherry Moore of Blair.

Surviving him are his wife, a daughter, a married son in Wyoming and several grandchildren.

He was born in Scotland, one of the nine of 13 children born in that country. The Cruickshanks came to Washington county many years ago.

When a boy, Mr. Cruickshank became a newsboy on the C. S. P. & O. railroad, later becoming a brakeman. In later years he left the railroad service and built several houses and buildings in Omaha. After moving to Los Molinos, California, he was in the grocery business and later operated an apartment and cabin camp. His last visit here was two years ago when he made a business trip to Omaha.
