Rhea L. Brummer, of Omaha, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019, at Parsons House in Omaha. Rhea was born on Dec. 16, 1936, to Glen and Frances White of Blair.

A graduate of Blair High School, she was married to Richard Brummer on Jan. 12, 1957, in Blair and lived there for 12 years before moving to Kearney in 1969.

Rhea met Rich while at a dance and was blessed with 62 wonderful years of marriage to her soulmate. She and Rich raised two daughters and two sons. Rhea was an avid reader and a life-long learner. She cherished being a caring mother and a full-time office manager for several companies. She was a talented seamstress, an excellent cook, and had a soft spot for country music, especially Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings.

When she wasn’t playing bridge with her friends, she loved to dance in Blair, Arlington, and Kennard. One of her true joys was being involved in the lives of her family and watching her grandchildren grow up and supporting their activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Frances. She is survived by her husband, Rich; children, Julie (Ken) Smith, Jayne (Mike) Macholan, Jim (Mindy) Brummer and John (Julie) Brummer; eight grandchildren, Lauren and Grant Smith, Zach and Kate Macholan, Aden and Ava Brummer, and Ben and Brody Brummer; sisters, Mary Trede and Darlene Safley; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The Brummer family wants to acknowledge the amazing love and care for Rhea from St. Croix Hospice of Omaha and the Parsons House staff.

The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday April 3, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair.
