Sister Of Henry Ruwe Is Dead

Well Known Resident of Fremont, A Native Of Fontanelle

Caroline Ruwe, resident of Fontanelle and Fremont from childhood, died at her Fremont home at 534 East Second street Tuesday morning. She was 71 years old and had been an invalid since January 9, of the year when she fell and fractured her hip.

A daughter of William and Justine Ruwe, pioneer residents of Fontanelle, she was born May 9, 1866, in Quincy, Ill., and accompanied her parents to Fontanelle a short time later. She was confirmed at the Lutheran church in Fontanelle and attended school there.

In 1886, Miss Ruwe moved to Fremont with her parents to reside at 534 East Second street, where she was to spend the remainder of her life. Her devotion to the old family home and to her parents were her principal interest in life.

Six brothers and sisters survive. They are Henry A. Ruwe, Blair; Edward Ruwe, Fremont; Mrs. H. S. Monke, Fontanelle; Mrs. Gusta Hoelscher, Pasadena, Calif.; Albert J. Ruwe, Fremont, and Jess A. Ruwe, Los Angeles.

Funeral services are being held this (Thursday) afternoon at two o’clock from the family home to which she was so devoted. Officiating will be Rev. Mr. Schultz, Lutheran minister, who had been a close friend of Miss Ruwe in her declining years.

Miss Ruwe had visited her brother in Blair many times and had a wide acquaintance in the Fontanelle vicinity.

CAROLINA RUWE DIES IN FREMONT

Carolina Ruwe, resident of Fontanelle and Fremont from childhood, died at her home in Fremont Tuesday morning. She had been an invalid since January 9 of this year when she fell and fractured her hip.
